Writers need to build an emotional connection with your readers, immerse them into the story world, and make them care deeply so they will keep turning the pages.

In this workshop, we will discuss more than 21 senses and cover how to use these senses to clarify your setting, enhance character goals and motivations, and focus in on cadence and rhythm, all to heighten and strengthen the reader connection. Receive specific tools you can implement in your fiction to craft compelling prose.

with Madison Michael

In this one-hour workshop, romance author Madison Michael will take you through the key steps to crafting an enticing book description that makes your book the one readers want to buy. Madison has created a four-part, hands-on workshop using a proven formula where you will create your own blurb during the workshop.

Part One – Setting the Hook. Learn about why readers buy and how you can craft your hook using those motivations. Avoid common author mistakes and master the basics of a winning blurb formula.

Part Two – Raise the Stakes. In this section of the workshop, practice using high emotion words, and identifying the next phase of the formula and putting it to work for you.

Part Three – Bring it Home. Having roped in your readers, in this section of the workshop you will learn how to get them to buy your book.

Part Four – Madison answers your questions and the group brainstorms taglines.
